Adopt-a-Highway Spring 2025
After waiting more than a week for the rainy weather to improve, 7 members of the club convened on the sunny morning of March 24 to pick up litter at the Big Milkweed Patch on Route 126 in Springfield. Unlike last year when the ice storm had knocked down a lot of branches, the pickup area was clear, though plenty soggy. We picked up 9 bags of litter and saw a Cabbage White butterfly. Thanks to Geri Baxter, Vanessa Best, Peter James, Herb Gazeley, Rick Ahrens and Sharon and Jim Blick for helping out. Our next work party will be in June when we hope to find some Monarchs like we did last year. If you want to help out with this project, please fill out this contact form.
