Adopt-a-Highway Crew Finds Monarchs!

On Saturday June 22, 2024, we held our second Adopt-a-Highway work party at the Big Milkweed Patch. We were happy to see that ODOT had removed the trees that fell in the icestorm and that the milkweed patch did not seem to have suffered damage. The milkweed was blooming and we spotted at least 2 monarchs, one of which appeared to be laying eggs on the milkweed. We picked up 4 bags of litter and reported a dead deer. Our next work-party will be in September when we will collect milkweed seeds in addition to picking up litter.
